PEARL FRACTIONAL LASER

Pearl Fractional Laser

Let’s utilise the power of the most effective fractional laser technology to renew the surface of your skin; targeting imperfections that might exist due to scarring, sun damage and aging.

PEARL FRACTIONAL LASER

Pearl Fractional Laser technology is one of the most advanced and efficient laser treatments to combat deep wrinkles, sun damage and acne scars, and they have the research and medical data to prove it. You can quickly treat fine lines and uneven skin texture on the face and neck with visible results in only 3 or 4 days afterwards.

The Pearl replaces the top layer of the skin and sends heat to the deeper layers to stimulate the formation of collagen. Using pulses of light, the Pearl removes a portion of your dermis (upper skin) while creating a natural, protecting dressing on its surface. Within 3-4 days this protective dressing will start to peel off to reveal fresh, new, vibrant and healthy skin from underneath.

Over the following 4-6 weeks, the skin will continue to show effects as the collagen gently lifts those deep wrinkles and together with the introduction of healthier, new skin this treatment will result in a more youthful appearance.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

CONDITIONS

The skin around the eyes is thin and has fewer oil glands, making them more prone to dryness and the formation of wrinkles. Also known as ‘crow’s feet, these are usually the first showing signs of ageing.

Repetitive frowning due to squinting can cause the forming of lines on the forehead and between the brows, also known as number 11 lines. Not only do these make us appear older, but they also result in an angry and serious appearance.

Smoking exposes the skin to toxins and break down existing collagen. This leads to the loss of the skin’s elasticity and consequent fine lines, wrinkles and sagging. Smoker’s lines are generally around the lips and eye area.

Décolleté includes the area under the chin and as we age the supporting muscles under the chest weaken, causing weaker and thinner skin and a resulting drooping effect with vertical lines on the area above the chest.

Melasma causes the formation of irregular, dark pigmentation patches in areas that are generally over-exposed to the sun. They can occur in anyone and sometimes appear during pregnancy or when women use contraceptives. The most prominent areas usually include the cheeks, forehead, upper lip and nose.

Uneven skin pigmentation is caused by an overproduction of melanin, which becomes less as we age. Sometimes our skin have dark and discoloured spots due to over-exposure to UV rays. Spots can also be a result of post-inflammation conditions caused by acne.

Enlarged pores are due to the excessive production of sebum on the skin, which leads to oily skin. Even though this is a natural phenomenon, it can cause acne that could negatively impact affect teens, young adults and in some cases people in their middle age.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Local anaesthesia can be administered to numb the area where the surgeon will be performing the procedure which makes the actual procedure quite painless. Immediately after the treatment, you can expect to feel a burning skin sensation, similar to being sunburnt.

It takes 45minutes for the local numbing cream to take effect before the therapist starts with the treatment. The actual treatment should take approximately 45minutes.

The face, neck and Décolleté are the most treated areas.

You can expect 3-5 days of downtime, but this depends on the intensity of the treatment. A natural protective dressing will be formed by your skin on the second day and the redness will start to turn brown. On day three or four this dressing will start to peel, revealing brand new skin.

To mask the effects of the treatment you can wear breathable, medical make-up after the 2nd day.

You will get all the post-procedure care instructions from your therapist to minimize downtime and maximise the restorative effect. This will include the application of Vaseline and vinegar soaks in the first couple of days plus a skincare regime. It’s also imperative, like with any other laser facial treatments, to use a daily broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin against any sun damage.

The perfect skin type for the Pearl is the 1,2 or 3 Fitzpatrick skin type. Unfortunately darker skin types (5 of 6) cannot be treated and if patients had sun exposure 3 weeks leading up to the treatment we’ll have to reschedule the appointment to prevent damage.
