Not at all. Advances in the medical field has made this procedure simple and non-invasive. Under the guidance of the doctor, you will select a specific dermal filler that will be injected into your lips to contour and shape them as desired.
Persons with thin lips, or those who have lost the volume in their lips are generally the best candidates for lip augmentation. The Plastic Surgeon will do a consultation to determine whether you are qualified for lip augmentation, checking that you are in good health and whether it will meet your desired outcomes.
The lips are very delicate and sensitive. Your Plastic Surgeon will numb the nerve endings on the lips with numbing cream to ensure you feel very little pain during the procedure.
Immediately after the procedure your lips will look fuller and slightly swollen or bruised. It will remain like this for a week and the stiff sensation will disappear after two weeks to leave the softer and fuller.
An experienced Plastic Surgeon will discuss your concerns and use their experience during the pre-operative consultation to ensure you decide on a procedure that matches your facial proportions while enhancing your lips to a level you are satisfied with.
