CHEEK AUGMENTATION

Cheek Augmentation | Treatments

Enhance the appearance of your cheeks and give them new volume and lift with the help of surgical implants, fat transference or non-surgical fillers.

CHEEK ENHANCEMENT SURGERY

As we age our cheeks lose volume and sometimes even start to sag. Cheek augmentation will add volume to aging cheeks and give those who feel they are born with flat and thin cheeks the desired lifted look. Our SCINmed Plastic Surgeons are qualified in using medically proven surgical and non-surgical techniques to enhance your cheeks and help you restore confidence in your appearance.

Through a detailed pre-operative consultation our Plastic Surgeon will assess your needs and apply their years of experience to make recommendations around your desired look. To create those beautifully lifted cheeks they can recommend one of the following surgical procedures:

– Solid cheek implants

– Fat grafting (Tissue transfers)

They will also be able to provide any answers you might have around non-surgical alternatives and solutions, so contact us now to set-up your consultation.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

CONDITIONS

As we grow older, collagen production slows down. Our skin gradually becomes thinner, it loses its underlying fat and with this it loses volume and might start to sag.

Sunken cheeks are generally caused by the effects aging has on our skin and fat tissues. With age the skin loses its elasticity, starts to sag and the malar fat pad that’s attached to the cheek bone starts to descend downward with it, resulting in a tired and older look.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Like most plastic surgery procedures, a cheek augmentation is highly individualised. If you’ve been self-conscious about your cheeks and think a lift could improve your appearance, you are most probably a good candidate. After a consultation with your doctor, you’ll know whether non-surgical procedures or surgical procedures will give you the expected results. The best candidates for surgery procedures are fit and healthy, have realistic expectations and don’t smoke.

This depends on the procedure you and your surgeon agrees on. Permanent implants are more predictable, and the procedure depends on your own body and needs. Sometimes the procedure can be supplemented with top-up fillers and injectables.

Your Plastic Surgeon will be able to give you exact answers related to your prescribed procedure. Some procedures might require general anaesthesia while patients only need local anaesthesia for others. Permanent implants require potential surgical cuts in the mouth or under the eyelid, while fat grafting only requires a small incision near your cheeks.

Gauzes, dressings and bandages will be used to cover the incisions on your cheeks while compression garments minimize and support them for better recovery. Every procedure comes with its own set of post-operative care instructions, and it is important to ask your doctor all the questions you can about the removal of these, showering habits, wound dressing, cleaning treatment and when to schedule a follow-up appointment.

An experienced Plastic Surgeon will discuss your concerns and use their experience during the pre-operative consultation to ensure you decide on a procedure that matches your facial proportions while enhancing your cheeks to a level you are satisfied with.
