FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Limelight is a little sensitive, and you’ll feel a pinching or slight stinging sensation the moment the light pulse is delivered to the treated area. The treatment is safe, and patients have minimal to no side effects.

It usually takes one to three weeks for results to be visible. During this time the dark spots will turn flaky and fall off while the redness and broken capillaries diffuse.

1-3 treatments are generally enough, except in cases of extreme pigmentation.

For best results and to reduce the risk of skin injury, patients should avoid sun exposure to the treated area in the three weeks leading up to treatment. This treatment can only be done on Fitzpatrick 1-3 skin. Don’t do this procedure right before a big event. Allow your skin at least three weeks to completely heal.

The skin might be a little swollen and red immediately after your treatment. The dark spots might appear darker, and it could take a few hours or a day for this to subside.

Medical foundation can be used to reduce the appearance of redness and it’s critical to use a good sunscreen to minimize sun damage to the more vulnerable, healing skin in the following days. Keep the area hydrated and don’t pick the area. We generally recommend that patients stay out of the sun for 10-14days post procedure.
