ANTI WRINKLE MUSCLE RELAXER

Anti-Wrinkle Muscle Relaxer

Smooth out fine lines and let wrinkles be something of the past with an effective muscle (or wrinkle) relaxer.

COSMETIC MUSCLE RELAXER

Botulinum toxin type A is a highly effective muscle and nerve relaxer used by doctors to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Comparable to other anti-wrinkle injections, it focusses on targeting the muscles that contract to create the skin folds and consequent wrinkles in the upper-third section of the face, around the eyes or neck. It’s a quick in-office procedure where a tiny needle is used to inject the solution into targeted areas while leaving unintended areas untouched and you’ll see the wrinkles disappear over the course of two to three days.

Botulinum toxin type A has also proved effective for treating medical conditions like bruxism, limb spasticity, spasmodic torticollis and blepharospasm to mention a few.

The skin around the eyes are thin and has fewer oil glands, making them more prone to dryness and the formation of wrinkles. Also known as ‘crow’s feet’, these are usually the first showing signs of aging.

Repetitive frowning due to squinting can cause the forming of lines on the forehead and between the brows, also known as number 11 lines. Not only do these make us appear older, but they also result in an angry and serious appearance.

Bruxism is a condition where the excessive grinding of teeth and involuntary clenching of the jaw occurs. This mostly happens during the patient’s sleep but can also occur in daytime. It can have a variety of causes and some patients experience jaw pain, excessive tooth ache, headaches, or dental problems because of it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

It will take four to seven days before you’ll be able to see the full effect.

Results with these injections usually last 3 – 6 months and a lot of patients return on a quarterly basis for their injections.

Absolutely not. You will wait approximately 15 minutes for a topically applied cream to numb the area before the doctor injects the Botulinum toxin type A into the targeted area with precision. A normal treatment takes less than an hour in total.

Like most injections you might experience a bit of swelling or redness where Botulinum toxin type A was injected, but in most instances, it is completely possible to return to your normal daily routine. Exercise should however be avoided for the 24 hours after your procedure.

The relaxing effect on your muscles and nerves will work out and wear off, allowing your muscles to return to their normal functioning the way they did before the treatment.
