Have you been searching for the best hair loss treatment? Tried and tested various hair loss shampoos and supplements with no real results? Hair loss or alopecia can be a real problem for some, and we understand that this can have a major impact on your self-confidence.
We have good news. Your sleepless nights over hair loss can now be a thing of the past with a proven solution called a PRP hair treatment.

What is PRP?
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma, this treatment method involves withdrawing blood from the patient’s arm. It is then inserted into a centrifuge where the platelet rich plasma and red blood cells are separated. During this process, the platelets are concentrated to three times the normal blood values by eliminating any unwanted granulocytes.
How do you perform the procedure?
Step 1: Blood is drawn from the patient’s arm by one of our specialist doctors.
Step 2: A topical anaesthetic then gets applied into the scalp so that the patient experiences virtually no pain.
Step 3: Once the Platelets have been separated the procedure gets administered by one of our Specialists in two ways. The one is through micro-needling and the other is by injecting the plasma directly into the scalp.
Micro-needling is the insertion of very fine, sterilised needles into the skin to stimulate the wound healing cascade and collagen induction to promote skin rejuvenation.
The plasma is spread across your scalp and then followed by the micro-needling procedure to help the concentrate of platelet rich plasma protein being absorbed by the skin.

Why is PRP hair treatment different?
The platelet-rich plasma contains essential proteins and specific growth factors that assists in tissue regeneration and healing that stimulates natural hair growth.
“PRP skin regeneration therapy assists with the regeneration and restoration of the hair follicles, enabling new, healthy hair to start emerging on the scalp. The procedure stimulates the formation of new healthy blood vessels which supply the hair follicles and sustain hair growth and hair regeneration,” says Dr S’li our Specialist Dermatologist.
“The increase in blood flow brings essential nutrients into the follicle while taking away harmful waste products and increases cellular metabolism and cellular activity. The hair follicle, therefore, has the necessary building blocks and energy to transform from a weakened follicle to one that is healthy and capable of producing beautiful, thick healthy hair.”

Does it hurt?
Some patients may experience this treatment under topical anaesthetic to be uncomfortable and sometimes painful. There are two other options available to you. The one is where you will be given a sleep sedation and the second one is where you can be given a general anaesthetic. During both these options you will be fully asleep and not notice any of the injections.
