SCARS
Scars occur naturally when a wound is being repaired. When the deeper layer of the skin, the dermis, is damaged then the normal skin is replaced by an area of fibrous tissue and a scar is produced. Scars can often fade with time, but in some instances a permanent mark can stay behind.
Acne for example is often the cause of scarring and the grade of scarring depends on the severity of the acne. It also depends on the amount of unprotected exposure to sunlight to the acne area and the amount of repeated scarring taking place on the same area. To avoid permanent scarring, it’s best to get treatment for acne at an early stage.
Â
Different scars require different types of treatments. Some of the treatments include dermabrasion, injecting skin fillers and laser treatments depending on the nature and severity of the scar. Often ordinary scars require no treatment because it is part of the healing process, but when a permanent scar is left behind and becomes cosmetically undesirable then only will it be necessary to treat it.Â
